Reinhard Zinkann

Dr Reinhard Christian Zinkann, born in 1959, is together with Dr Markus Miele a fourth-generation Executive Director and Co-Proprietor of the Miele Group. Before entering service with the Miele family-run company, he was employed in various functions in sales with BMW. Before receiving his doctorate at the Technical University of Berlin, Dr Zinkann studied Economics, Business Management, History and the History of Music and Philosophy in Freiburg, Boston (Harvard) and Cologne.

Dr Zinkann is, among others, vice president of the Brand Association, spokesman for the domestic appliance industry on the board of ZVEI, the association representing the German electrical and electronics industry, and treasurer on the board of the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft (German Science Foundation). He is also president of the board of Falke KG aA and a member of various other supervisory boards and steering committees, including the medical device manufacturer Dräger and the kitchen producer Nobilia.

The Miele company, founded in 1899, is the world's leading manufacturer of premium domestic appliances with a turnover of EUR 4.16 bn, approximately 20,500 employees and its own sales subsidiaries or importers in around 100 countries. The company was founded jointly by Dr. Miele's great-grandfather Carl Miele and his partner Reinhard Zinkann. Today, the Miele Group is under the joint leadership of both Executive Directors and Co-Proprietors as well as three non-family directors.
