The 3rd virtual session and 8th edition of Viewpoints – Sohar International Chairman’s forum, is all set to take place on October 19, 2020 starting at 7:30pm, and will be streamed live via the bank’s YouTube channel. Carrying forward its legacy of hosting the best of international experts as speakers, the latest edition will explore strategies for family businesses to keep pace in a fast-changing economic landscape.
Hosted by Mr. Mohammed Mahfoudh Al Ardhi, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Sohar International, the session’s guest speaker, Dr. Reinhard Christian Zinkann, will offer insights on building a resilient brand and leadership culture based on his experience, as a fourth-generation Executive Director and Co-proprietor at the 121-years old Miele Group. In addition to being locally relevant, the topic will deep dive into offering tangible solutions on managing family businesses successfully, from one generation to the other.

Before entering service with the Miele family-run company, Dr Reinhard Christian Zinkann was employed in various functions in sales with BMW. Holding several academic qualifications across Economics, Business Management, History, Music & Philosophy, and a doctorate, from prestigious global institutions, Dr Zinkann is, among others, vice president of the Brand Association, spokesman for the domestic appliance industry on the board of ZVEI, the association representing the German electrical and electronics industry, and treasurer on the board of the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft (German Science Foundation).
The Miele company, founded in 1899, is the world's leading manufacturer of premium domestic appliances with a turnover of EUR 4.16 bn, approximately 20,500 employees and its own sales subsidiaries or importers in around 100 countries. The company was founded jointly by Dr. Miele's great-grandfather Carl Miele and his partner Reinhard Zinkann.
