Leveraging its dynamic ‘winning’ proposition, Sohar International joined hands with the Higher College of Technology to celebrate meritorious long service of staff and accomplishments of the second batch of students who graduated from the college in 1988. The ceremony titled “Technological Communication Forum- We are Proud of You” to mark the contributions and achievements of the retiring staff and 1988 batch of graduates was held under the auspices of Dr. Khalfan Said Al Shuaili, Chief Executive Officer of Oman Aviation Services.
Mr. Khalil Al Hedaifi, Chief Retail Banking Officer, noted the initiative came as part of the Bank’s social engagement beyond banking and thrust to human resources development in the Sultanate. “Sohar International commends the retiring staff and the second batch of graduates for their contributions to the country’s development. The Bank is committed to sustainable development, facilitating opportunities for Omanis to build a strong foundation for better future. The objective is to help them benefit from relevant educational and training opportunities and thereby develop employable skills,” Al Hedaifi added.

The Higher College of Technology in Muscat is the second largest higher education institution in Oman catering to more than 12,000 students. It is one of seven Colleges of Technology under the Ministry of Manpower.
Sohar International has made major headway, empowering youth in their chosen fields of specialisation, including healthcare and finance, by joining hands for the graduation ceremony of Oman College of Health Sciences and Higher Institute of Health Specialists. The Bank also supported Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) Society of Oman to strengthen contributions to socio-economic development in Oman.
Sohar International recognises the importance of providing all required support to equip Omani youth with the knowledge and skills to tackle challenges at workplace. With the Higher College of Technology at the forefront of vocational and technology education in Oman, Sohar International is optimistic of complementing the country’s efforts to develop a competent labour force addressing the economic diversification objectives in line with the Vision 2040 economic blueprint.
