The 4th virtual session and 9th edition of Viewpoints – Sohar International Chairman’s forum, is all set to take place on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 starting at 7:30pm. Continuing to bring global learning and perspective to locally relevant topics, the upcoming session of Viewpoints will host Ms. Maysa Jalbout, Visiting Scholar and Special Advisor, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Arizona State University, who will tread into the changing dynamics of education across executive and general programs across the world. Hosted by Mr. Mohammed Mahfoudh Al Ardhi, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Sohar International, Ms. Jalbout will offer insights and share anecdotes from her wide-ranging knowledge in the education sector globally.

Maysa Jalbout is a recognized leader with 25 years of experience in international development and philanthropy. She built high impact organizations and multi-sector partnerships renowned for their innovation and results. Her work has paved the way for better lives for children, young men and women in the most vulnerable communities around the world. Currently, she is a Visiting Scholar and Special Advisor on the UN Sustainable Development goals at MIT and ASU and a Non-Resident Fellow at the Brookings Institution. She was the founding CEO of the Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation for Education - a landmark philanthropic initiative based in Dubai with a budget of $1 billion. She was also the founding CEO of the Queen Rania Foundation in Jordan. Forbes recognized Jalbout as one of the 100 most powerful businesswomen in the Arab world in 2016, 2017, and 2018. Driven by her passion to support refugees worldwide, Jalbout has authored a series of reports on refugee education, developed national strategies endorsed by global leaders, and designed philanthropic initiatives which allow millions of refugee children to return to school.
