Sohar International Sponsors Ibra Hospital’s HR Workshop

In line with its vision to become a world-leading Omani service company that helps customers, communities, and people to proposer and grow, Sohar International recently sponsored a workshop entitled 'Self-Leadership for Prosperity'. Focusing on the importance of developing human resources’ skills, the workshop was organized by Ibra Hospital in North Al Sharqiya Province.

Commenting on the sponsorship of Sohar International, Mr. Khalil Al Hedaifi, Chief Retail Banking Officer, Sohar International said: “The practice of self –development is essential in today’s world as it offers practical skills to address the challenges we face in our day to day lives. We were keen to participate by sponsoring this workshop, as it highlighted the enhancement of the capabilities and skills of human resources, which is one of the key factors that helps in leading and achieving sustainable development in all fields in the country. As it is in line with Sohar International’s strategy of empowering people to ‘win’, and our mission to enable communities in achieving growth and prosperity, this workshop was an ideal opportunity for us to provide support while reaching out to a larger segment of potential customers, and raising awareness about our innovative banking products and services.”

With attendees of over 800 employees and staff of the hospital, the workshop was conducted by Mr. Saud Mohammed Al Rawahi, a certified trainer in management and self-development, and focused on the importance of developing human resources’ skills and factors that enhance its effective contribution, which has a significant impact in the quality of production and enhance individual’s capacity.

Mr Khalid bin Mohammed Al Sawafi, Ibra Hospital Manager said: “We thank Sohar International for this initiative and appreciate its commitment to achieve a strategic cooperation with the Ministry of Health represented by Ibra Hospital. The Ministry's efforts to improve the level of health services in the Sultanate, and its huge interest in developing human resources and empowering them positively in order to provide high-quality medical services to regular visitors and patients in all health institutions, is well known. In this context, Ibra Hospital embraced this workshop, which targeted its employees mainly, and generated an awareness of their individual abilities, which contributes to improve their professional productivity.”

Sohar International is moving forward in its pioneering efforts to support the health sector in the Sultanate in particular, as it witnessed the signing of strategic cooperation agreements with a number of health institutions during this year, as it has recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Burjeel Hospital to offer a range of special services to its customers, and another Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with with Aster Al Raffah Hospital, where customers can now take advantage of a discount of up to 50%, while availing medical services from the hospital. The support of the workshop at Ibra Hospital is in addition to its track record of active initiatives, emphasizes its interest in the development of the health sector as a vital sector and influential in all economic and social development processes, and an indication of its interest in improving the quality of health services received by its customers, employees and people across the Sultanate through health institutions and their staff.
