With the aim of supporting community related initiatives and as part of its Ramadan activities, Sohar Islamic sponsors ‘Ramadan Aman’ Campaign organized by Al Mukhaini for Events Company. The 20 – day campaign has been planned to offer specially prepared Ramadan Iftar Packages to drivers at traffic lights just before Iftar time with the aim of reducing the urge of drivers to rush to break their fast and henceforth promote road safety.

Commenting on sponsoring ‘Ramadan Aman’ Campaign, Mr. Salim Al Maskari, DGM and Head of Sohar Islamic said “Sohar Islamic has always been keen to drive community awareness on key causes whilst promoting social development. This campaign addresses a very common phenomenon witnessed during the holy month that increases the risk of road accidents jeopardizing the lives of drivers and pedestrians. The unique development and execution of this campaign means that we can focus on this common problem and address it in a way that would eventually have a significantly positive impact contributing towards road safety.”

The ‘Ramadan Aman’ Campaign ultimately promoting road safety will witness the support of 200 volunteers from civil societies and associations. As part of this campaign, the Ramadan Iftar Packages planned to be distributed in high population density areas such as Muscat, Sur, and Sohar, just before Iftar time at traffic lights will include water, dates, cake, and awareness flyers.
