Bank Sohar has sponsored the Al Amerat Team’s participation in the Orpic Ramadan Football Tournament, furthering its commitment to supporting local communities and promoting healthier lifestyles during the holy month of Ramadan. The Tournament, which kicked-off on the 17thof May, witnessed the participation of over 24 teams, and came to a closure on 10th June at Al Amerat Stadium. The prize-giving ceremony was attended by Mr. Mr. Mohsin Al Lawati, Section Head Trade Finance who received a token of appreciation from the organizers on behalf of the Bank.

Commenting on the sponsorship, Mr. Khamis Masoud Al Rahbi, Senior AGM Retail Banking at Bank Sohar, said, “Bank Sohar extended its focus on local communities throughout Ramadan, during which we look to support activities that enrich the lives of people and contribute to a more active lifestyle. In Oman, Football is easily the most popular and enjoyed game, by both players and spectators, and we are happy to support Al Amerat Team’s participation in Orpic’s Ramadan Football Tournament and wish them best of luck.”

Promoting a healthy lifestyle during Ramadan has seen another initiative by the bank, and that was through the internal football tournament for staff which saw the participation of 8 teams and more than 65 employees.

Supporting the local community, during the Holy Month of Ramadan and throughout the year, has been a core component of Bank Sohar’s social activities that aim to benefit the community, share the Bank’s values and provide a platform for engagement with the community. The Bank’s sponsorships since the beginning of this year has covered a wide range of community activities such as sponsoring earlier this year Al Abyad Camel Race, Majaz Al Khair, 18th Gulf Disability Forum and Trainex Expo aimed at young graduates and job seekers.
