Bank Sohar recently made a generous contribution to the Association for the Welfare of Handicapped Children – Musannah Branch. The initiative forms part of the bank’s CSR largesse outlined under Sohar Al Atta, a comprehensive social support programme extending aid to a variety of non-profit and welfare organizations. Bank Sohar’s donation will go towards building the centre’s capacities in terms of restocking and upgrading physical training equipment for its members.
Commenting on the bank’s contribution, Ms. Munira Abdulnabi Macki, GM – HR and Corporate Support, said, “We are firmly committed to supporting the local Omani community on all fronts and being an active agent for change and progress in society. The donation cheque was handed over at the Association office to Ms. Rahma Al Habsi, Center Manager for Al Wafa Centre for Rehabilitation of Children with Disabilities - Musannah Branch, by Mr. Mazin Mahmood Al Raisi, Sr. AGM – Head of Marketing & Customer Experience at Bank Sohar.

Bank Sohar’s donation forms part of its fourth quarter largesse towards social development organizations that promote community empowerment. It joins several other initiatives under a comprehensive CSR strategy that provides crucial financial assistance to numerous social development associations across the country. Over the years, Bank Sohar has supported over 30 organizations around the Sultanate under its social responsibility program .in recognition of its contributions; the Bank has received numerous accolades for its CSR efforts locally, regionally, and internationally. The most recent of these awards was the ‘Golden Order of Merit in the field of CSR’ from the Arab Organization for Social Responsibility in UAE. This award is the fourth that the Bank has received from the Arab Organization for Social Responsibility for this category.
The Association for the Welfare of Handicapped Children was set up with the aim to reach out to every differently-able Omani child through consistent training, effective advocacy, and by establishing as many centers as possible throughout the country. It caters to children between the ages of six and fourteen providing them with comprehensive education programmes and assistance to ensure that children with disabilities have a fair chance at enjoying life to the fullest.
