In line with its efforts to promote knowledge-sharing platforms and initiatives as well as discuss the latest developments, challenges, and advancements in Oman’s vibrant business sector and develop best practices, Sohar International recently sponsored the 10th edition of the OER Business Summit 2019 which focused on ‘Oman: Catalysts for growth’.
Held at the Sheraton Oman Hotel under the patronage of HE Yahya bin Said Al Jabri, Chairman of Board of Directors of the Special Economic Zone at Duqm (SEZAD); this year’s Summit was attended by senior professionals and business leaders from across different industry verticals. Representing Sohar International at the event was Mr Ahmed Al Muslami, Chief Executive Officer and members of the bank’s executive management.
Commenting on the bank’s support to the event, Mr Ahmed Al Musalmi, mentioned: “With our new vision set firm, we aim to continue to play a pivotal role in Oman’s economic development by supporting events and forums such as the Business Summit, that are vital to the business sector, and overall economic landscape of the nation in the long run. The 2019 edition of the OER Business Summit focused on the theme - ‘Oman: Catalysts for growth’; and shed light on the International Monetary Fund’s prediction about Oman becoming the fastest growing economy in the GCC in 2019. The event also witnessed panel discussions on how certain catalysts for growth can help the Sultanate maintain its economic momentum in the coming years.
The OER Business Summit has emerged as a coveted platform for government and private sector officials, luminaries, corporate honchos and other senior management executives to come together; and this year’s edition was no different. The event has lived up to its legacy of being the ideal platform for judicious discussions, case studies, presentations, peer-to-peer interaction and networking.
