In line with the spirit of #WinningTogether initiative on its social media platforms during the holy month of Ramadan, Sohar International has also extended a helping hand to those in need by providing essential food items to low-income families, starting with Muscat and Sur, with a schedule to expand reach around the Sultanate throughout the holy month.
Led by Sohar International’s Chief Executive Officer – Mr Ahmed Al Musalmi, the initiative saw staff volunteered to visit homes or low income families and deliver to them food essential packs.
Commenting on the initiative, Mr Ahmed Al Musalmi averred: “Small acts of kindness can create huge moments of triumph in others’ lives. As advocates of the #WinningTogether spirit, we take our Corporate Social Responsibility to help the society at large very seriously, as we believe it is part of our duty to the nation’s socioeconomic development. We are equally proud of our staff who wholeheartedly participated in the initiative, underscoring our brand’s personality of being Sharp, Human and Unstoppable”
While the primary objective of the initiative is to support low income families, it also served as a vehicle to encourage employee volunteerism; strengthening employee morale, and cultivating a positive organisational culture. It was a unique experience for Sohar International’s staff as it gave them the opportunity to interact with low-income individuals and families, and understand the challenges faced by them, especially during the holy month.
This drive goes line in line with the bank’s #WinningTogether campaign that has attracted huge attention and interest in all social platforms, reflecting the society’s noble ethos of promoting social welfare and caring for each other to create mutual winning.
