There is a difference between a credit card and a ATM card. With a credit card you get credit for your purchases and receive a bill for them at the end of the month. You also have a credit limit on the credit card. On a credit card interest is levied on unpaid balances after the due date each month.
ATM cards can be used only in ATMs. There are no credit limits and no monthly bills. You can use the ATM card to access money in your savings, checking or current account.
The ATM card is the property of the Bank and is made available for the use of the customer. At the time of the issue of the card, the validity is inscribed on the card like 06/09 or 08/10. This means that the card is valid till and available to the customer till the end of June 2009 – 06 refers to the month of June and 09 refers to the year 2009. Similarly, 08/10 will mean that the card is valid until the end of August of the year 2010.
ATM, debit cards and credit cards can be used at an ATM.
