Sohar International Renews Strategic Partnership with Ahmad Al Harthy for 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship

Reinforcing its commitment to empowering Omani talent and elevating the nation’s presence on the global stage, Sohar International, Oman’s best bank, has proudly renewed its sponsorship agreement with celebrated Omani racing driver, Ahmad Al Harthy, for the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC). The agreement was signed by Mr. Abdul Wahid Al Murshidi, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Sohar International, and Ahmad Al Harthi at the Waterfront building marking a continued partnership that first commenced in 2022.

This collaboration aligns with Sohar International’s vision of fostering excellence, leadership, and national pride through strategic alliances. Ahmad Al Harthy, a pioneering figure in Omani motorsport and the first sportsperson to receive a Royal Commendation from His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, exemplifies the values of determination and success that the bank upholds.

Reflecting on the renewed partnership, Mr. Abdul Wahid Murshidi said, “Ahmad Al Harthy has consistently demonstrated perseverance and excellence on the global motorsport stage, embodying the same agility and resilience that define Sohar International. Ahmad Al Harthy will compete for a second season with BMW and Team WRT in the FIA WEC, driving the high-profile No. 46 BMW M4 LMGT3 alongside legendary motorsport figures Valentino Rossi and Kelvin van der Linde. This marks his third year in the global endurance championship, further strengthening Oman’s representation on the world stage.

Ahmad Al Harthy’s stellar performances in 2024, including a P2 podium finish in Jeddah and a historic P1 victory at Monza in the Bronze entry classification, have solidified his status as a formidable competitor. His recent triumph in the Michelin 24H Dubai GT3-Am class further underscores his capabilities heading into the 2025 season. The FIA WEC 2025 season kicks off in Qatar on February 28, with the championship spanning eight rounds across Italy, Belgium, France, Brazil, the USA, Japan, and concluding in Bahrain on November 8.
