The new account type is in line with Sohar International’s commitment towards creating a generation of financially responsible future business leaders in the country, and caters to the ever-changing lifestyles of today’s young consumer. The proposition will offer the youth segment a wide range of financial solutions across multiple stages of their personal and professional lives.
On launching the proposition, Mr. Khalil Al Hedaifi, Chief Retail Banking Officer at Sohar International, said, “The fast-paced evolving world that today’s young generation lives in, makes it challenging for them to step back and plan the future for themselves. Sohar International’s newly developed Youth proposition is part of the bank’s strategy to ensure that being a service-oriented organization, we cater to the smallest of financial needs of the consumer, thereby encouraging them to plan ahead and adopt prudent financial practices.”
Amongst the many value added features and services provided through the newly launched proposition, the Youth Account offers customers no withdrawal fees at any ATM inside Oman, rewards on all purchases, no minimum balance required to open the account, monthly cash prizes with dedicated draws, and possibility of opening the account in different currencies.

Similar to any account type, there are some primary requirements for the individual to be eligible for the Sohar|Youth proposition. In order to be eligible to become a Sohar|Youth customer, the individual’s age should range from 18 to 25 years old and would require allt he necessary documentations that can be done via the bank’s branches. Sohar International is uniquely positioned to effectively cater to all customer segments within the Sultanate, with differentiating factors that accommodate individual needs and enable them to win.
