Sohar International honored with 'Most Innovative Campaign of the Year' Award at the Oman Banking and Finance Awards

With innovation driving Sohar International to unparalleled heights, the bank has been recognized for its differential take on conducting consumer and community led campaigns. As a testament to its efforts, Sohar International won the highly coveted award titled ‘Most Innovative Campaign of the Year' at the Oman Banking and Finance Awards, powered by OER and co-located with New Age Banking Summit 2021 which was held at Al Bustan Palace Hotel on September 22, 2021. This unique title was awarded to the bank for its thoughtful campaigns designed to promote tourism, cultural and historic sites in Oman.

The event, which was hosted by His Excellency Shaikh Salim Bin Mustahail Al Mashani and supported by Oman Banks Association, honored His Excellency Tahir Al Amri, Executive President, Central Bank of Oman as the Chief Guest and keynote speaker. The event was attended by senior-to-mid level bankers, Fintech experts, finance and investment professionals, insurance experts and business consultants. Representing Sohar International at the glitterati summit and Awards ceremony was Mr Ahmed Al Muslami, Chief Executive Officer of Sohar Internal, and a number of the bank’s executive management. Mr. Khalil Salim Al Hedaifi, Chief Retail Banking Officer of Sohar International received the prestigious award from the chief guest of the event, His Excellency Tahir Al Amri, Executive President of CBO.

Skillfully integrating the long-term goals of the country into its own initiatives, Sohar International’s Prize Scheme 2021 which is themed ‘In Oman We Win’, takes viewers on a journey through distinctive touristic, cultural and historic locations as it announces its monthly prizes covering various governorates from Mussandam to Dhofar.  While the uniquely themed and executed prize scheme campaign has played a pivotal role in promoting tourism in Oman, the bank has also been a keen supporter of, and sponsored projects like the ‘Not Discovered Yet’ initiative that has put Oman on the global map as a key tourist destination and a country that is environmentally conscious and prioritizes sustainability. Complementing the government’s efforts in promoting local and international tourism in Oman, Sohar International will continue to undertake meaningful initiatives that provide more value to people’s lives and contribute to the country’s social and economic progress.

This award compliments the various other awards received recently by the bank including “Most Innovative Bank 2021” and “Most Improved Bank in Profitability Management 2021” at the World Economic Magazine Awards based out of the United States of America. The bank was also honored recently the ‘Best Employer Brand’ Award as well as the Award for ‘Managing Health at Work’ at the World HRD Congress - Oman Best Employer Brand Awards 2021 - a global body based out of India. Awards like these confirm the bank’s unique leadership, pursuit of excellence and determination to create a winning experience.
