Keeping in line with promoting the spirit of ‘winning’ and in continuation of its support to local sporting events and the Omani culture, Sohar International served as sponsors for the Hamra Al Drooa Camel Festival held in Wilayat of Ibri from 29 December 2019 to 4 January 2020. The festival attracted over 10,000 visitors, tourists, professional racers, and camel enthusiasts from across the region.
The event was held in the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Futaisi, Minister of Transport, who was also the guest of honour at the ceremony to grant awards to the winning participants. Representing the bank was Mr Saif Said Al Rashdi, District Manager - Al Sharqiyah, Al Dakhliya and Al Dhaira Regions at Sohar International, who was given a token of appreciation for the bank’s support.

Hamra Al Drooa Camel Festival offered its visitors with a plethora of other cultural activities, including folklore music and dances, cultural activities for women and kids and an open day for poem recitation. The camel festival is a traditional event and a heritage to the Omani community.
